In addition, when you append the icon at the end of the username, there's a bit of a spacing issue. Is there any way for me to edit it so the symbol is not so close to the text? Also, some users want to opt out of seeing them entirely - - is there a way I can use css on specific themes so they don't have to see them?

Hum, that's odd, this was never reported.
Have you been able to reproduce the issue ?
If so please describe me a step by step approach.
For the spacing, you would need to put some css.
For the opt out, that's not possible sorry.
The step by step is pretty simple. If you go into your profile and enable an icon for the first time, it works. You save. Then, if you change your mind and decide to remove your icon, then save, a broken image symbol remains next to your name rather than being completely removed. I've noticed this also happening with Banners as well.
It happens every time on multiple different accounts and themes including classic xenforo.
As for the css, where exactly would I go to edit that? I've tried looking around the templates but can't seem to find the right spot.

Unfortunately the bug seems to have even further reach than I expected. It makes a broken image appear under the banners on the mini profile. It's happened across multiple websites of mine, I'm not sure what exactly the issue is. I'd really love to keep the addon but the broken icon is a bit of an eyesore and I'm hoping this is fixable or at least you might know of a way I can disable the code. This is directly related to this addon as disabling it removes the broken image. It seems to be caused by either editing an existing usergroup or creating a new one, as it only applies to members that are part of certain usergroups that I've either made or edited recently.

I have a couple test environments, an exact copy of my site and a clean slate, just to help me test stuff. Sorry for confusion.

That said, strangely enough... I think it resolved itself, somehow. I didn't really notice until a few days ago that it was resolved since I made an effort to hide this as much as possible. I increased the memory limit not that long ago so that may have something to do with it.
