I do not use RM Marketplace, even though I purchased it. I wanted to use something familiar to my paying members, so I purchased Forum Sales. The installation went smoothly, but when I setup a test thread and my personal PP account email, instead of the business, I get the following message when I try to pay:

I just completed the application and your instructions need to be updated.

Application Information:
  1. Marketplace is not a sufficient title. It must be unique.
  2. You must fill out the description
  3. You must put in the URL to where the product was purchased (here)
 
Now I just get a standard XF error page.

Do I need to also put in my business PP username/password in the PPConfiguraton.php, above where I entered the App ID? If so, is that secure, where no one can download that .php and view it?

You should have configured the whole file, as explained in the tutorial.
That file is not downloadable no.

You are getting this error if you didn't set the API info correctly or you didn't create your own APP ID.

Gotcha. I stopped when it said "The error should be gone!."

I figured that the rest of a tutorial on RM Marketplace would not be the same as for another product.
 
Also missing from your instruction is how to allow certain usergroups to sell in a specific forum(s).

For example, I have two forums for sales: Vendor Classifieds and Trade Blanket.
  1. set Node to allow sales (in your instructions already)
  2. Node Permissions --> Vendor Classifieds - Permissions --> Vendor Usergroup: "Sell in forum" = Allow
  3. Node Permissions --> Trade Blanket - Permissions -->
    • Supporters Usergroup: "Sell in forum" = Allow
    • Hobbyist Usergroup: "Sell in forum" = Allow
 
Now I get a server error when trying to post a new listing:

By the way, this is new because it worked fine before, when I created the thread, prior to reinstalling the software after I kept getting the error shown in the screenshot above.

That's basic XenForo permission system stuff, hence why we didn't explain.

You uninstalled and reinstalled the product ?
Seems like the uninstall didn't cleaned up properly as you are still getting errors that shouldn't be there anymore.
