I know it could be nice to implement yes but I am not sure when.

Well of course, I prioritize work based on the money it bring.

Also would have to figure out the smartest way to setup it as percentage on sale wouldn't be working out.

The % on sale feature is silly, it costs double the fees and paypal fees are expensive.

Better to have one party receive payment. Then at the end of the month, ask them to manually pay the site a % of their sales. This is basically what every other site does, from eBay to Spotify to Amazon. One party handles payment.

It doesn't exactly cost the fees.

Is it really that way ? it's not ebay or amazon who takes the payments and then send back at the end of the month ?

on eBay, you handle the payments from items you sell. At the end of the month, eBay send you a bill asking you to pay them a % of all your sales.

Something like that would be a nice feature, but not needed. We can handle it manually for now.

Hello guys,

I am considering the work on this feature, however I am trying to think at the use cases.

Right now, any user could sell resources.

If I am using XenForo payment profiles, it would mean that only the admin of the site sell resources as the profiles are admin defined.
Is this what you guys had in mind ?

Or where you still thinking at a marketplace where anyone can sell ?

@MtoR I'm so excited for this! I have to say both options are good.

For tax reasons, it's important to allow "anyone can sell" - where users sell direct to other users. I don't want to lose that functionality.

Admin-defined sales are a good feature, but I don't want to lose "anyone can sell".

Is it hard to give other users options for other payments as well?

I am not sure about hard, but payment profiles are built so it's admin defined, I'd have to see if it can be tweaked so it's also user defineable.

It's only a matter of time to spend on it o_O

As a matter of fact, I get to think back at this.

The problem with providing the capability to each user is that it would mean for them to provide payment profile info.
This is for me questionnable as the admin could access those data.

So I am not sure this is gonna happen.
Maybe I should rather create a RM Shop add-on providing that use case.

But you would loose "For tax reasons, it's important to allow "anyone can sell" - where users sell direct to other users. I don't want to lose that functionality."

As I explained above, it would mean people input payment system configuration and it would be visible to admin.
For me that's not acceptable.
